Nizamabad District


  • Nizamabad District is located in the north-western region in the state of Telangana.
  • The headquarters of this Dist, Nizamabad, is the 3rd most populous city in the state.
  • Nizamabad district has an area of 7,956 km².
  • According to 2011 census Nizamabad District population was 2,552,073.
  • Nizamabad is bounded on the north by Adilabad district, on the east by Karimnagar district, on the south by Medak district, and on the west by Nanded district of Maharastra State and Bidar of Karnataka State.
  • Nizamabad district lies between 18° 5' and 19°' of the northern latitudes and 77° 4' and 78° 37' of the eastern longitudes.
  • The Godavari River enters into Telangana from Nizamabad district at Kandhakurthi.
